Japan: From Monks to Monkeys

  • Changes In Latitude Travel Store 2525 Arapahoe Avenue Boulder, CO, 80302 United States (map)

In April 2016, Colorado Cancer Foundation Founder and Vice President, Stan Havlick, and his wife Margaret Carew, traveled to Japan at the height of cherry blossom season. Together with Margaret’s family, the couple explored Imperial Park, the Geisha District, and Philosophers Walk. They also toured a Koyasan Shukubo Buddhist Temple, and took a sobering visit to the Palace Memorial Park in Hiroshima.

Among the many highlights of Stan and Margaret’s trip was a lighthearted visit to a traditional Royokan, where they witnessed the wild snow monkeys of Nagano, the Shinto Shrine World Heritage Site on the Island of Mojajima. Still other adventures included a Sumidagawa River cruise, the famous National Museum, and downtown Tokyo.

Stan, who has lived and traveled on all seven continents, will also devote a portion of the evening’s program to answering questions. So please join us for a fun and informative evening at Changes in Latitude Travel Store in Boulder. It will be a great experience, one you will not want to miss.
